Each of CGMA’s grant and interest-free loan programs are purposefully designed to ensure that short term financial challenges do not become chronic financial problems.
Since 1924, Coast Guard Mutual Assistance (CGMA) has served as a trusted and reliable resource for Coast Guard members and their families in times of need.
As the official relief society of the U.S. Coast Guard, we give hope and strength to the entire Coast Guard community by providing disaster and emergency relief, family support, and education assistance.
In 2023 CGMA provided more than $9.2 million in direct financial support to a total of 6,357 members of the Coast Guard community. 1 in 7 Active Duty members received support from CGMA with 63% of all assistance going to members E6 and below.
